Project: OceanFlux is part of the ESA Support to Science Element (STSE), an element of the Earth Observation Envelope Program aiming at reinforcing the scientific component of the ESA Living Planet programme. OceanFlux aims at fostering the collaboration among the different scientific communities involved in marine studies, atmospheric research, modelling and EO science.

Funding: European Space Agency

Project duration: 1 November 2011 - 31 October 2013.

Partners: Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI), National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG), the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research TNO

Objectives:

1) Support the development of novel products and enhanced EO-based observations responding to the needs of the SOLAS community
2) Facilitate and advance in the integration of EO-based products into SOLAS processes studies and coupled ocean-atmosphere models.
